Hey,

I've recently upgraded my old 8150 to a shiny new Ryzen 7 1700, I have updates my bios on my motherboard to the latest and have set my multiplier to 38 giving me a clock speed of 3.8ghz I also set my voltage to 1.375, the cpu clock speed shows at 3.8 in my Bios however nowhere in windows show this and CPU-Z also shows me running at 3200 which is a 100 mhz with a 32x multiplier, not sure what else to try or what I've done wrong any help would be awesome!

My Specs

Tomahawk B350 Motherboard,
AMD Ryzen 7 1700
Running on Windows 10.

That’s odd, and I’m sorry to hear. I have been working on dialing the best settings for my new ryzen build as well. For you, I would suggest downloading the ryzen master software from AMD. It will let you over clock from within windows and reset. It could potentially fix whatever issue is going on.. best of luck and keep me updated

Hey thank for the reply,

I have now had some success and figured out my problem which has in turn created another problem, I'm able to overclock the cpu no problem and it's working perfectly however whenever I try to also overclock my Memory which is currently only running at 2133mhz then it just goes boom doesn't work and then resets the settings for everything else so hopefully will get a solution to both running smoothly in the end!

Memory speeds/timing is kind of the Achilles heel of Ryzen motherboards right now. Is your RAM listed as officially supported for your motherboard?

Honestly I wouldn't know I don't seem to be able to find a list from either MSI for my motherboard or Corsair for my memory to what is "officially" supported.

Glad you started to get things moving. Have you enabled the docp profile? It’s the AMD version of xmp that intel uses. Hat fixed things for me. I just went with the standard docp profile and it loaded up my rams settings. You may have to manually enter the ram timings even after the docp is enabled
