Agreed. You could replace the whole thing with a cheap laptop, but I'll amuse you for the motherboards sake.

Just a note though. The GPU here seems to be faster than the 820M according to UserBenchmarks, same for the CPU here. Its all up to you from here, hope you have fun whatever you decide...

Welcome to Tom's!

Any components that would give you a NOTICEABLE upgrade in performance are significantly in excess of 100 Euros. You probably couldn't find anything NEW for a reasonable price that would be compatible with your system. I would suggest saving up some more for a completely new build. anything else is throwing good money after bad, trying to upgrade an obsolete system.

For 100$ you can get a 3rd gen i3 dell mini desktop that obliterates what you have now used.

I was planning to buy used parts. Would it be better if i just fixed my laptop? My display just stopped working,my friend who fixes tech for a living told me that i need to buy a new one,its only around 40-50 euros, the laptop has an 820m 1gb edition, pentium n3540 and 4 gb of ddr3 ram, its an hp 15-r262nm

Well, at least your laptop is newer tech, but it is still last generation's tech. Unless you have no PC at all, I would not recommend spending anything on the older tech. The return on investment is VERY low to non-exsistant on upgrading older technology.

It's either fixing the laptop or upgrading the PC, so what is a better option?

That's totally up to you. You will have to buy used parts to upgrade the PC, realizing that there would be NO warranty on the used parts. You could spend your 100 euros on parts that don't work, and be in the same spot you are in now, just 100 euros poorer. If you get your mate to fix the laptop, there would be at least some protection from loss. It really depends on your expectations for the upgraded PC, and the games you want to play.
