Hello there,

I am about to create a new system cause my previous one has almost completed a decade plus it has presented some motherboard issues that clearly affect everything but even more my Ram.

I'm thinking of buying the following hardware in order to create my system. Please take a look..I would appreciate your opinion. In addition keep in mind that I need the system for both gaming and business projects.

1) (CPU) Intel Core i7-8700K (LGA 1151,3.70MHz, 12MB)

2) Corsair Series 780T Black Full-Tower

3) (Motherboard) Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 7 (LGA1151, Z370, DDR4)

4) (RAM) HyperX DDR4 Predator 16GB 3000MHz

5) (VGA) Nvidia Gigabyte GTX 1070 Ti / ASUS ROG Strix GeForce® GTX 1070 (I'm between them)

6) Solid State Drive (SSD) SAMSUNG 850 EVO 2.5" 1T

7) (PSU) CORSAIR HX 850i Fully MODULAR 80+ PLATINUM

Any changes of unnecessarily high price parts, that might lower the budget needed for this system are very welcomed.

Thank's in advance!

After you migrate, you can log on as normal. You can get 500 gb ssd or 1tb if you want to :)
The power supply, while a great unit, is overly expensive. SeaSonic FOCUS Plus is great for the money or EVGA G2 if you can find it at a good price. 650W is good enough, 750W is usually at a good price point.

I would recommend saving money on other parts (such as PSU) to get the better GPU. If you really want to save money an i5-8600K would be good enough.

1TB SSD is expensive, you might consider a larger HDD + Optane memory and a smaller SSD for OS.

Those 2 graphic's cards that I mentioned are about the same price in the store that I am about to purchase them and to be more specific asus rog is a little more expensive.I dont know if you meant gtx 1080 when you said the best gpu.

As it comes to psu,I read that hx 850i is one of the greatest out there with minimum noise do you think that 850w are too much for this build?

And considering the ssd,can you clarify more about that? The thing is that I only know a few about them but from what I understood,do I need also a normal hard drive if I want to install a ssd?

In addition,I think that as it comes to cpu I can spend something more in order to purchace i7 8700k because besides from gaming I also need this system to run smoothly and fast business projects. That's why I went for the ssd in the first place.

are you stuck on that case? its very expensive. (almost 300$ here in canada) is there a specific reason you need it? phanteks and bitfenix are good cases for little money. the enthoo series test very well in reviews. edit: tghe others are right. those platinum 800W psu's are for more servers with 8 harddrives or gaming with sli and water cooling. but on the other hand that cpu is a great overclocker for the future.

If you have the money then you've picked great parts. I meant the GTX 1070 Ti OR whichever you can afford that might be better. 850W is more than enough, but it is a great unit that makes it desirable. Again, if you can afford the SSD then just get it, no need for a HDD unless you need more space.

Here in Greece that case is about 220€ which is equal to approximately 250$ if I am not mistaken. The reason that I chose this case,is that from what I've read it is an expert as it comes to cooling/air flow and I thought that buying a case like this will save me from getting water cooling and maybe a cpu heatsink ( I own one right now but I dont think that it will match to the new motherboard).

As for the psu the reason that I chose it,lies above. What do you suggest as an alternative?

Considering the money I am about 70% there but since I am a university student,If I can save some of them by substituting high price parts that don't make a huge difference to the system, that would be more than welcomed.

ok, your happy with the case for your reasons. cpu is great but your flipflopping in the gpu. 1070ti or 1080ti.

there is a fella named vapour here as an expert, he can come along with all the info youve given us and make you a nice build.

Your build is very good for the parts you picked, only thing missing is a cpu cooler, no matter how good the airflow is inside the case, CPU cooler is needed as the case ventilation is not that intense as created by cooler. I will give you A- for your build.

However, for cost-effectiveness, your build is D imo. Can I ask how much are you gonna pay for all the stuff above? Do you like a best bang for the money build? If so, tell me your detailed major usage. Like what games you want to play, monitor resolution and refresh rate, open to getting new monitors? what does it mean by business projects? Software used there other than Office? Answering those questions and I may give you much better bang for the money build :)

In the end, if you are happy with your system and think the money is well spent, go for it, just add a good cooler like Corsair H100v2 for water cooling or Noctua NH-D15 for air cooler. Both are very good for that very hot 8700k if you need to overclock it.

@ ARICH5

I feel flattered, but I am still learning too.

In the US this is what you'd be looking at (ram not available in 16Gb only 32Gb kit.)
This would do considerably better

While prices are guaranteed to be different for different parts, you've chosen many higher priced stuff that isn't much, if any, better than the lower priced parts, but the difference between a 1080ti and a 1070/1070ti is huge when it comes to 4k ability or even 1440p/144Hz monitors.
Unless you are planning on full custom loop cooling, there's no need for the expense of a full tower like the 780t. That thing I'd huge and offers a single gpu on a ATX mobo nothing but wasted money and space. You could easily pack your entire build in a mATX case (with appropriate mobo) and still have plenty of room left over.
850w for a 1070 is overkill and wasted cash. You could easily run a 1070 and that i7 on a 550w psu. 650w is the general accepted size with an i7 and plenty of extra for OC.

First of all thank you for your help and your interest.

Now,as it comes to the price that I am gonna pay for the hardware listed above, it is around 2300€ which is equal to about 2600$ (it may sound like too much compared to usa/canada but don't forget we are talking about Greece meaning that taxes are like 30%)

For the games section, you can consider World of Warcraft,Starcraft 2,League of Legends,PUBG and other ones such as AC,COD,Diablo 3,Dark souls,Far Cry,Nba 2k and the list goes on...

My monitor is a 24' Samsung D390 with a 1920x1080 resolution /59.999Hz ref.rate but I am considering of upgrading to a 28' in the future.

I'm a business administration student with an expertise at financial management/investments so other than Office I also use some programs for stock market analysis/trades.

I'm a business administration student with an expertise at financial management/investments so those business projects that I am referring to,have to do with stock market analysis/trades.So,yes my business projects do make me money, not a fortune though...since I am still a senior university student.

From what you recommend,I can tell that the system that I am about to build is way more powerful than I require it to be.But please keep in mind that I want to build a system in order to last and not upgrade the hardware every 2-3 years. That's why I chose some hardware parts that might be overkill for the use that I destine.

Update:
Some of the parts you suggested are not being sold by the store that I am about to buy the hardware.
Those are: Noctua NH-D15,Z370 Asrock extreme 4,1tb WD Cavier Blue hdd and as it comes to PSUs the sell nothing but corsair.

In addition considering the hydro cooler Corsair H100v2 that you suggested,I've read that it doesn't match a 1151 cpu socket and the H110i does. Both are being sold from the store that I am gonna get the hardware and it seems that one of those 2 would be my solution cause the best air cooler that they sell is ANTEC C400.What do you think about the hydrocoolers?Plus, the case selection would be a tough one considering that I cant find one that is really cost-effective.
You can take a look at all the full-towers that the store sells from that link: https://www.you.gr/pc-parts/exartimata-desktop-pc-anavathmisis/koutia?zcases_size=0

1. H110iv2 supports LGA 1151 if you want water cooling, for air, see if you can find dark rock pro 3 or Cryorig R1 ultimate

Ok will be purchasing some of those you recommended.I wanted to ask one more thing though. The combination between ssd and hdd that you suggested, can you tell me how it works exactly? Like, where information is being stored to ssd or hdd? When both are used, the ssd is only for temporary saving and then the information needs to be moved to hdd? Also,I run my current system in windows 10 64bit.I've read somewhere that when you buy a brand new ssd you can 'clone' windows from another hdd to the new ssd.Is that true? Can I do the same with the new system that I am gonna buy or do I need to buy windows again?

Yeah but 250gb for os,games and stuff like that won't be pretty low?
And considering the win 10 clone, how I am about to clone them to my new system, since it won't have an active os
and thus I would not be able to go on further than bios?
