So I have put together a system from parts I have from previous builds, this is currently what I have installed. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WcQz2R My problem is I am now trying to set up windows 10 on it, and I have the IOS file for that on a flash drive, so I just need to plug it in and start the install process. I get to the part to pick a location to install and theres no drives listed, so I go to my BIOS screen. The only drive visible in my boot options is my USB drive. I have checked the cables connected to the hard drives and tried other cables and it still doesnt recognize. my BIOS says it is running version F6, I have tried to update the bios with Q-flash using BIOS files from Gigabyte's website, and when I run them each time it just says "BIOS ID check error" no further information. The HDDs are from old builds, but the SSD is brand new and never been used in a build before. I am out of ideas with what knowledge I have on this subject, motherboards and BIOS has always been a subject I have struggled with a bit. Also I have checked and the storage boot option is on Legacy mode, all the SATA ports are enabled, and SATA mode selection is on AHCI not RAID.

I presume you have attached to each drive both the SATA data cable and the power supply connector from the PSU.

Are you sure you downloaded the correct BIOS update file for exactly your mobo? If so, check with Gigabyte Tech Support for what that error message means, and how to fix.

yeah both the data and power cables are connected, I have swapped around the ports and cables to just about every combination in hopes that maybe one was faulty in its connection. There are five SATA ports on the motherboard and I have tried all five with different cables and different drives.
Yeah I made sure the update files are for this model of motherboard.

UPDATE: I plugged in an optical drive using the same cables used on one of the hard drives, and the BIOS shows the optical drive but still will not display any hard drive.
