Hi,

I have a question I have an Nvidia geforce gt 640 Graphics card Now the max resolution is 2048 x 1536. Now My Monitor is an Hp pavilion 32 Inch QHD Monitor hooked up to a desktop computer and the Monitor has a native resolution 2560 x 1440 Should I use the Monitors resolution even though my Video card does not support that high of a resolution? Or should I use My video cards refresh rate of 2048 x 1536. Will there be any difference in display quality with my Monitor if I use My Monitors resolution or Vice versa? I do not use the video card for gaming or anything Like that Just want my display quality on my Monitor to look great and want My videos that I watch on you tube and My videos on my pc that I watch to look great also.

Thank you!!

Solution
There is no quality difference of any digital connection. Both dp and hdmi could support freesync or hdr but I don't think your monitor even has those.

I use hdmi so Okay I will use The Monitors resolution Okay It will work fine with the video card that I have Okay Just wanted to make sure that the Monitor supported it. With hdmi. I looked at the specs for my Video card and I could Not find anything that told me what resolutions were supported with HDMI. So I figured I would ask here..

I have another question if that is Okay.? My Monitor has a Display Port but my video card does not. My question is What is the difference in display quality if any between HDMI and the Display port? It Is it worth it for me to go out and buy another video card One that has a display port?
