So a few weeks ago i upgraded my graphics card to a nvidia geforce gtx 1050ti windforce. I uninstalled the driver and tried to get a new one. when I did the message read "unable to install no compatible hardware present. I checked the PCI-E slot, made sure everything was plugged in, I find nothing. on top of this i can't plug my monitor into the GPU and get an output so I've had to use the on-board graphics and to top it all off i can't find any problems in the BIOS or in find the GPU in the Device manager.

I'm currently running these specs:

monitor : Acer KA240HQ
graphics card : gigabyte geforce gtx 1050 Ti
driver : NVIDIA GeForce 7025/ NVIDIA nForce 630a
processor : AMD FX(tm)-4100 Quad-core Bulldoser Processor
hard drive : ST1000DX 001=1NS162 SCSI disk device

Thanks.

Ok so it is an nforce chipset. There is a good chance it does not support a newer UEFI GPU. This is rare with aftermarket boards, but possible.

So even in the BIOS you get no output to the GPU? Im pretty sure if so this is the issue.

Whats the make and model of your motherboard?

You mentioned "driver : NVIDIA GeForce 7025/ NVIDIA nForce 630a" If you somehow have an nForce 630a based motherboard and you uninstalled that, you uninstalled the motherboard drivers. On top of that the board MAY be incompatible with a newer UEFI GPU. Rare bu happens with some of those old Nvidia motherboard chipsets.

At the point of replacing your motherboard, to keep that CPU, its not worth it. You can buy really and any AM3+ motherboard with any chipset (760G, 970, 880, 990FX). If you can get one for 50 bucks thne maybe, but IMO you're betetr off putting that 50 bucks toward building a new system with a new board, cpu, and memory.

Really depends on your budget.

i don't have a fantastic budget. At this point i'm just looking for a computer that isn't expensive, which is why i'd prefer to upgrade instead of rebuild.
