Earlier this year I shot a film which was saved on G-Technology 8TB thunderbolt drive. We have been doing most the editing on a mac and this has been fine. Now, however, I am looking to buy a new drive that I can copy the files onto which will work on my PC so that I can edit from home.

Currently I cannot connect the G drive we have to my PC, which has USB3 on the motherboard but not thunderbolt. I looked into and even bought a few of the adapters only to find through some sleuthing that with the specific drives we bought they do not work.

I know I can buy a drive and format it for Fat32 and just copy the files onto it, however Fat32 can't take files larger than 4gb which some of our 6k files are definitely larger than. I feel like there has to be a technical solution to this.

Basically I need to buy a drive that I can copy the files over from the old drive onto that will connect to my PC (through USB3). I keep trying to read forums ect. but for some reason cannot land on exactly what I need.

Does anyone know the solution to this via experience? If so (or even if not so) any links to drives I should be looking at? Just looking to buy the cheapest 8TB drive that will let me do what I'm trying to do.
