pcie x1 to x16 adapter

I have a asus H97m-e mini atx Mobo, it has 1 pcie 3.0 x16 slot and 3 pcie 2.0 x1 slots
On the x16 i have a gtx 1060 6g and I would like to put 3 of these cards on the 3 x1 slots

Is that possible with this kind of adapter (https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-Express-Profile-Extension-PEX1TO162/dp/B0039XPS5W ) or do i need one with usb connection?

Youll be limited to the slow PCI x2 x1 speeds and performance will suffer. If you are going for gaming SLI 3 1060 together wont do a lot for you and if you are trying to bitcoin mine your about 2 years too late to make any kind of money solo.

It's not for gaming nor mining bitcoin, its for mining other cryptocurrency (just to add sth at the end of the month) but is that adapter good for it?

Maybe not for mining but I'm unsure. You'll have to wait for someone else or find a mining forum. Also be aware of power requirements the 1060 can draw 120 and peak to 150 at full usage.

People tend to use powered risers to avoid any issues. Prices are the same anyways. That one is expensive.
