Here are my current specs:

Motherboard : https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813121506
CPU : https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115074
GPU : https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102908
Power : https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182200
RAM : https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231311
Case : https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147153

So I am looking for advice. Should I upgrade or buy a new computer ? I am looking to play games like Destiny 2 and Total War Warhammer 2 @ 1440 resolution maybe 4K since that's the new direction games are going. Spending limit is up to $800.00 of course the cheaper the better.

Thanks,
Rob

It would be cheaper to upgrade. You can probably re-use the power supply and case which is a nice savings right there. It's hard or impossible to find a newer chipset (LGA1151 or AM4) mobo that still uses DDR3 ram so that's unusable and you would need a new motherboard to update your CPU.

You could get a GTX 1080 for 500$ and find a Mobo/CPU/Ram combo on the egg for around 300$ then reuse your power supply, case, case fans etc.

I guess it depends on if you are going with AMD or Intel. Do you have a preference?

When I first built this computer at the time Intel was the king. So my question is Intel still king or has AMD taken over as top brand ? I am just looking for a gaming PC no video editing or the likes. What would you guys recommend ?
