I haven't been able to adjust the rpm of any of my 4 pin PWM fans, I tried through the UEFI and some software called "SpeedFan".

I have an ASUS B85 Pro Gamer motherboard and the fans are two ML140 PRO LED and a Noctua NF-A9 PWM.

Are the motherboard headers 4-pin?

I'm asking because the Specifications on the Asus website mentioned 2 X 4-pin CPU and CPU_OPT and 3 X 3-pin for chassis:

https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/B85PRO_GAMER/specifications/

But the manual in PDF actually says 2 X 4-pin for CPU and CPU_OPT and 3 X 4-pin for chassis (page 1-21):

Although you can use fans with 4-pin on 3-pin headers, there would be no pulse with control but they motherboard can control them through voltage anyway if you set it to do so in BIOS. I think you should set CPU Q-Fan Control to Advanced Mode (which...

If you want to control it with SpeedFan you need to go to the configure option, then advanced, and select the option under “Chip” that reads “on ISA” (it will vary for different PCs) then select PWM 1 mode and set it to “software controlled” and if needed, do it to all PWM options.

You can also control fans through Asus AI Suite 3 if you install it. You can download it for your version of Windows (and architecture X86 or X64) from the same Asus website here:

https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/B85PRO_GAMER/HelpDesk_Download/

Under Driver & Tools choose OS and then expand the Utilities entry.
