Gaming pc keeps shutting down

Evening guys.
Recently my pc has started randomly shutting its self off. I thought it might have been the graphics card over heating as the fans would go crazy after a while. I replaced the thermal paste and the fans are at a reasonable speed now. But it keeps shutting off.
I don't even have to be doing anything strenuous - sometimes my kids watching a movie and the system will shut off.
When I say shut off, it's like I've turned the power off at the wall. It just dies.
I can turn it back on and it may run for another hour or another 5 minutes. Completely random.
Now I'm not an expert on computers or all the complicated words but any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Also apologies if I'm posting in the wrong category.

Solution
If the GPU is overheating, then replacing the thermal paste with something of higher quality helps. Something like Arctic Silver MX-4 / Arctic Silver 5... if you really want to go all out, the best is Thermal Grizzly's Kryonaut(which is also the most expensive).

If your CPU is overheating, the same can apply to that.
