Battery upgrade for my CPU won't run

I own an aroura r5 Alienware prebuilt with an i5 6400 and a gtx970. Recently I upgraded my bios and bought a i7 7700 and in order to run it I bought a thermaltake tough power 750 watt psu. When I swap out my powersupply and turn it on all I hear is a click and then nothing. I plugged everything in correctly but it won't run. Can anyone help

It sounds like you may have received a faulty power supply. I would suggest contacting whoever you purchased it from and seeing about getting a replacement unit.

did you just upgrade the psu or psu and cpu at the same time?

No, this would not be the case. The power supply will only send as much power as is needed.

This is what drives up prices at retailers. Did you make sure that PSU works with that motherboard? Dells are known to use proprietary ATX cables.
