compatibility with motherboard

I am going to upgrade my motherboard which too old as I cannot play the latest game ..I have an Asus M3N-HT de luxe and I am going foran ASUS ROG STRIX B350-F GAMING Motherboard ..I would like to know if my graphic card a Radeon R9 200 will work or if I need also another graphic card

actually it is an R9 270....now I was looking for compatibility and for this motherboard AMD says R9 290 or higher ....so should I upgrade or keep this one ...one more thing is an RX 580 or above better ?
