So I recently built a new rig and after installing a CoolerMaster 212 EVO noticed that my temperatures were relatively high when running small FFT in Prime95 (about 78c) so I just said screw it and ordered a Corsair H80i, I couldn't fathom why my temps were so high other than maybe it's just an Intel thing (this IS the first Intel-based setup I've had in 10+ years), my H80i came in yesterday and when taking the 212 EVO out I noticed the heat sink blades were bent all over the place and scratched to pieces, so I think I found the culprit. I digress though, back to the point; H80i works like a dream ( I think) and temps seem to be great, I did overclock the 7600k to 4.5 ghz though and my temps reached a peak of 83c using the small FFT test in Prime95.

Is this an expected temperature for a 7600k in P95 or should I just clock it back down? Temperatures seem to be pretty reasonable outside of P95 while overclocked, about 40-45c idle (about 24c ambient temp), it's just the load temps I'm worried about.

83c is a comfortable temperature with prime95, stresses it to the max. Rather unrealistic temps, gaming and rendering is quite lower. I get 80c on my 6600k with 1.32v with prime95. 70c AIDA64 and 30-60c during gaming, depends on game. Hyper 212 here too.
