As the title already says, 'my' Asus board isnt posting. Ive tried 2 different ram sticks and 2 different CPUs but im getting the same post code FF which according to my Post Code Card means "Flash ROM programming has been successful. Restart the system BIOS". I know that it might be a BIOS issue or the BIOS is bricked, but i dont want to reprogram it, cause it isnt my board, its actually one of my local PC shops boards, that they just gave me to test. In these 4 days ( from saturday till today ), it has posted 3-5 times.

The parts list:
CPU: AMD FX-8320
Mobo: ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0
RAM: 4Gb 1333Mhz Samsung RAM.
PSU: Some 500W unit i had lying around.
GPU: MSI HD5450 1Gb

Ive also tried a Phenom II X4 955 CPU - same problem.

I have already tried to remove the battery multiple times to clear the CMOS, but no change. Same with RAM, tried in each slot - Still no post.

Please answer ASAP, cause im going to go to the shop again and maybe ask for another different stick of RAM.

Might be wrong about - if it is a BIOS chip, but theres a Winbond Flash ROM on the motherboard thats removable. Also, heatsinks wouldnt be the end of the world, i can just add them. By this post, i mean whats wrong with the board and what does exactly the code FF mean. Also, im not going to OC the CPU if i get the board to work, well, ok, maybe 4 Ghz, but nothing extreme.

like 3rd edit already: If im going to only get the FX, how much you think it would be worth ?

Just brought the board back to him, and yes, he confirmed that the board is toasted. 1 customer told him that it wasnt working, he switched it for another one and that worked, so he just left this one in the shelf.

Also, he told me that, as im a customer that goes there pretty often, i can get the FX for 50 Euros ( its price for a new chip is 105 Euros here ). It beats my i3 by 3k points, i dont know in which benchmark tho.
