Buy 1050ti in November 2017 or wait for its equivalent replacement?

Hi there guys, I have an oem hp pc with an I5 7500, 4gb ram and a 250w 80+titanium HP power supply.

My current chassis is of the sfx form factor, and was considering replacing the psu, but all current sfx psu's of 450w+ are ridiculously expensive in South Africa (equivalent price of roughly $190 for a corsair sf450w psu), and so I wish to purchase the best graphics card available that can run off the motherboard alone

I would like to know if it's worth it to upgrade to a 1050ti so late in its life cycle, or if it's with the wait for a couple of months to get whatever card replaces the 1050ti,as I'm on a tight budget

You're cutting it close even with the 250W PSU. The rest of the system SHOULD be running about 90-120W or so at load and a 1050 (Ti) WITHOUT supplemental power connectors, will be running another 75W at load. Your PSU may or may not deliver the full power requirements. I didn't even know they made PC's that didn't have at least 300W power supplies.

In any case a 1050/1050 Ti would be fine as long as you don't need supplemental power, so I would suggest you don't get anything that is overclocked.

If you want to wait that's up to you, they aren't really "late" in their life cycle, but the next generation should be coming soon. However, they have not even been announced so it will likely be MONTHS before they are released or even...

I would wait personally.

If SFX power supplies are that expensive in your country, it might be best just to buy a cheap ATX case and move your parts into it. That way you could fit an ATX power supply also a normal size ATX graphics card. Assuming HP isn't using some proprietary form factor for their motherboard.

EDIT: Techy makes good point, we are not sure when volta or whatever nvidia releases next will come, from what I have heard it looks like first quarter 2018. But also like said above the lower end cards usually release later than the XX70 and XX80 cards.

If you're willing to wait it out that's up to you.
