"Undoubtedly PC. It will perform relatively better."
Exactly why my point was - "Depends on what you want to play"
on the other side - having a ps4 opens up a world of high tier exclusive games, and a cheap route to vr, if interested.
At the cost of capped visuals. And you pay almost double.
As Andy_K pointed out, it
definitely matters what games the OP wants to play. Sure, from a hardware perspective, you can build a PC that will match or exceed a console's hardware capabilities...but that assumes the game is available. There are plenty of games that haven't been ported to PC. And what if the OP is a fan of
The Last of Us (is exclusive to the PS3 and/or PS4, depending on version), or is planning on playing the upcoming
Kingdom Hearts III (exclusive to PS4 & XBox One)? It won't matter how much better a PC's hardware is, he won't be able to play those games.
If the OP is interested in particular games -- not particular
genres, but particular game titles and/or franchises -- it's going to have a major effect on whether he should buy a console or a PC. Only once he's determined that a PC will meet his needs does the question become what hardware he needs...
