I have a PC with core i3-4150, 8 GB ddr3 ram and a H81M-CS mobo.
I have bought a new 24 inches HD Acer monitor. I am planning to buy a GTX 1060 for my PC. Should I pair up i3-4150 with GTX 1060 or buy a new PS4. Please help !

When you talk about cores you need to also talk about the IPC of those cores where the AMD chips clearly struggle. The exclusives are always optimized for that console and therefore has better rendering sync ability. No such issue with a pc. You cant play much more than those exclusives.

As far as price is concerned...
PS4 - https://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-4-Pro-1TB-Console/dp/B01LOP8EZC?th=1 ($400)
GTX 1060 -

Video Card: EVGA - GeForce GTX 1060 3GB 3GB SC GAMING Video Card ($189.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $189.99
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

"Undoubtedly PC. It will perform relatively better."

Exactly why my point was - "Depends on what you want to play"
on the other side - having a ps4 opens up a world of high tier exclusive games, and a cheap route to vr, if interested.

At the cost of capped visuals. And you pay almost double.

Like I said, depends on what you want to play,
There are some very very good exclusives out there on ps4. maybe he's more interested in quality and breadth and not just limiting himself to a single platform?

also the ps4 has no added cost until the platform is dead, how long until the i3-4150 no longer cuts it? it's already struggling with more multi-core focused games, so probably sooner than the ps4 becomes irrelevant.

a ps4 doesn't cost £400+ any more... so nowhere near double even a 3gb 1060.. not sure where you're getting your numbers from?

Don't just poo-poo the consoles because this is a pc hardware site.

What do you mean? There are always sales on the stores, not to mention how cheaply you can pick up used games..

I'll say it once more, there are some fantastic exclusive console games that you can't play on pc, Personally I have a console and gaming pc, and I would find gaming rather hollow if I had to give one of them up.

Maybe I shouldn't have bothered putting the idea that consoles are decent gaming systems on a pc-focused site..??

As Andy_K pointed out, it definitely matters what games the OP wants to play. Sure, from a hardware perspective, you can build a PC that will match or exceed a console's hardware capabilities...but that assumes the game is available. There are plenty of games that haven't been ported to PC. And what if the OP is a fan of The Last of Us (is exclusive to the PS3 and/or PS4, depending on version), or is planning on playing the upcoming Kingdom Hearts III (exclusive to PS4 & XBox One)? It won't matter how much better a PC's hardware is, he won't be able to play those games.

If the OP is interested in particular games -- not particular genres, but particular game titles and/or franchises -- it's going to have a major effect on whether he should buy a console or a PC. Only once he's determined that a PC will meet his needs does the question become what hardware he needs...

Thanks for all your answers. I came to know here that my processor will bottleneck GTX 1060 3 GB. Which Graphics card should I buy then ? Will my PC handle assassins creed origins better than PS4 ( fps) ? Coz I heard that assassins creed origins has high CPU usage.

Still a 1060 3gb if its the GPU you were going for.
It'll last longer than a 1050ti & that i3 will power it OK IMO

If you were considering consoles then a Xbox one s would take precedent over a ps4 IMO.

Simply for the Xbox game pass (if youre the kind of gamer that hammers through games to completion in a few days) & ea access which offers a years sub for $30/£20 which included 20-30 AAA titles.

I'd still go with the GPU personally if its one or the other.

So which graphics card should I buy. If suppose in future I upgrade to i7 then I would have to change my graphic card as well. Right ? What happens if CPU bottlenecks GPU ?

The 3gb card should be fine for that i3. Just dont go any higher. Baki sab sahi hai.

Thanks for the answer :D r u indian :D ?

You got the point. :D

Don't forget you have to pay the yearly PSN subscription fee if you want to play online...

I have a PS4 Pro (for exclusives). It's very nice and all that, but paying for using my own internet connection really annoys me!

PC wins for that, along with a few other points - as mentioned above :D
