With black friday coming up i'm looking to upgrade,i was looking at the FX-8350 because of the price and i could use still use the motherboard i have. with my current setup my FPS is mediocre in games like Battlefront 2, i believe it's because my CPU is bottlenecking What would be a good upgrade without breaking the bank?

Specs: FX-4300, GTX 960 4GB, MSI 970 Motherboard, 16GB of RAM.

Could you mention the make and model of your MSI 970 board? There are a number of SKU's on their site. We'd also benefit from knowing of your full system's specs like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
Chassis:
PSU:
OS:

If the power delivery on your board isn't robust and with adequate cooling, your board is as good as fried chips. Oh and then there's the matter of cooling that 125W TDP processor, does your case have the necessary cooling options should you need to get an AIO or the necessary height clearance should you go for an aftermarket air cooler?
