Hello. I’m building my first computer and I’d like to get an opinion from you experienced builders out there. I have a ROG Maximus IX Code Motherboard and it has this tiny randomly blinking light behind the USB 3.0 Header. Originally, I thought it was a spark coming from the board and was a defect. But after RMA’ing the motherboard twice now with Newegg, all 3 motherboards had that little light behind the same USB 3.0 Header. So now I’m not sure it’s a defect at this point. From what I can tell, it only appears once you reach Windows and the little light seems to not harm any components since everything works. So, do any of you know what this is? Is my luck so bad that I got a defective motherboard for the 3rd time?

Solution
That is not a defect. It's a tiny HDD activity LED, probably related to the Sata ports right below it. If you look in your manual in Chapter 1, page 12 it's shown on the Motherboard Layout diagram.
