So the rgb headers are 12v on maximus X hero so I cant aura sync my fans because the sp120's are 5v. I was reading about a new addressable rgb header in my manual and was wondering if that was the solution to hookup the rgb fan header that comes with the corsair 570x to use aura sync with the case fans? Huge bummer just now realizing, as the complete build sits boxed up on my floor here, that the beautiful crystal 570x case fans arent even going to utilize aura sync so now my best bet is going to have to be using aura sync to try and synchronize the rest of the lights with the corsair fans. Is there a way around this?

Yes i have read people have done it on the LTT forum. I saw the Maximus x HERO has 2 12v rgb connectors and 1 5v add connector. DON'T connect it to the 12v as you will fry your fans. You can connect them to the add header but i can't say for sure if you will have any luck.

No, SP120s were not really designed to be made with aura sync in mind. Also the reason why they don't work on your RGB headers on your motherboard is because they use proprietary connectors on all of their RGB fans, including the SP120s (which is why you need the fan controller). Not even to mention the fact that if you do plug them into your RGB headers on your motherboard they will most likely fry the lights due to the voltage disparity.

Unfortunately that is kinda the nature of these fans. I believe the only ones that actually DO sync with Aura Sync are Cooler Master's MasterAir series RGB fans.

This kinda sucks, the whole time Ive had this build built in my head with the case lights synced with all the other lights controlled by aura. I probably would have just gone with the 760t for the ease if I knew this and a bigger rad. Theres a neat demo of aura on asus north america youtube channel showing the entire pc synced with aura and its very cool and was a huge inspiration for me, I wish he would have been more clear that corsair rgb fans arent compatible especially since it seems like those are the fans in the majority of builds I see. Is there no 12v to 5v adapter kind of thing or something to transfer it? Is this really something nether company thought of, cmon now. I mean its just lights and doesnt effect anything that really means anything but I chose several of my parts off of the cosmetic appearance of the build including th lighting.
