I've been building a budget PC for quite some time now and i've managed to get my hands on a i7 2600.

What would be a good GPU for my system?

i7 2600
8gb DDR3
420W PSU (Can swap out this PSU for a 450W)

Solution

1| Make and model of your PSU both after and currently?
2| What sort of a budget are we looking at and where would you like to purchase it off of?
3| Make and model of your motherboard?
4| Are there any limitations to your chassis in terms of airflow and clearance?

disregarding PSU quality and the availability of external pin connector [for GPU's extra power], a GTX 1050ti is the safest upgrade choice [some variant may need them so try to find the one that doesn't require it]

with a decent quality PSU + external pin connector, ur system should be able to handle up to GTX 1070 just fine, i wouldn't recommend anything above that though [both spec-wise and wattage efficiency-wise]

for the variant it depends on your case size, on mid tower, the normal variant would be fine, but on a SFF case, u will need a low profile variant

I have a 420W by thermal master (came with case), a 450w psu by Aywun
the budget is $200-$300 AUD
My Mobo is a Gigabyte ga-h61m-s2p-b3
And i don't think that there is any limitations in terms of airflow and clearance

ah i can vouch to that GPU, mine is the exact same XD
i've been using it for a few months now, barely reach 60 degree in most case, plays all of my games in 768p on high/max settings in most case without disturbing me with noise :D
