i currently have an i5 4460, 12 gigs of ram and a gtx 1080 FTW

how much better will the frames be with a 8th gen i5 with 16 gigs of ram

and whats the difference between a 8400 and a 8600k(no oc) performance wise

and what if i get a 4790k and keep the same mobo/ram

whats the fps difference between a 4790k vs a 8th gen i5

there's some IPC improvement, but not too much really, though, it'll depends on which games r u talking about
somewhere around 10-15% perhaps

some may benefit from the extra core that 8th gen provide, so they will have smoother gameplay and better fps
also, 8th gen can be OCed much easier than the previous gens [seeing how most CPU in the internet can reach 5 GHz easily]

upgrade your platform if u deemed the extra performance is worth it, if not, the i7 4790k still perform amazingly, though if u're looking for longer lifespan, the 8th gen definitely will last longer than the 4th gen

it should be about the same, though the 4790k might gonna win with it's slightly higher single core speed [since it's OCed] the difference won't be too much though
