Portable hard drive as internal hard drive??

Which brand of Portable Hard drive that can be used as internal hard drive for movies, games, and streaming along with transferring and deleting action too.

I have one internal hard drive for my desktop, and i planning to buy a portable hard drive for storage and for transferring and back up and watching movies as well...
so i was thinking why not keep portable hard drive connected nonstop as second hard drive and remove when i want to take it with me and connect to tv too.

You can use it like that except for running OS on it. Because it would probably change letter at some tome or another when reconnected it may not be usable to install programs on it but for pure data and personal file use it would be same as if it was internal. If it's USB3 than it wouldn't be much slower either.

so which one to choose, as i have short listed too
seagate expansion (local 1 yr warranty)
seagate backup plus slim (2 years is Rs. 511 higher = $ 5 higher)
wd my passport (local 1 year or intel. it is Rs. 800/- = $8 higher then expansion)
seagate backup slim (3 years official is Rs 850/- = $8.5 higher then expansion)
