Hi,recently I got a new computer and it's pretty strong but for some reason some of my games are lagging. For example Sonic Generations runs at 30 FPS on low settings and Nier Automata runs at 6 FPS at low settings while some other games like Dark Souls II run at 60 FPS.
I tried updating my graphics card drivers but no help.
My specs:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700 CPU @ 3.60GHz
GeForce GT 420 2 GB
Microsoft Windows 10 (build 15063), 64-bit
RAM 16 GB
If any of you know how to fix this please tell me

Solution
One quick way to improve performance now is pull that GT 420 and run the igpu as the igpu in the 7700 is better than the gt 420. To improve more get a gaming GPU.
I'm puzzled how a GT 420 got in that system. It's like trying to drive a sports car with flat tires. The card has limited capabilities. Games which don't demand a lot will run better than games which demand more. In addition, the design of the game may use more of what the card offers, while other games might not be more demanding but do require some feature the card doesn't have. That's why you are seeing inconsistent game performance.

I'd try integrated graphics. Then, if that's not enough, think about at least an entry level gaming card. Something like an RX 460/560 or GTX 1050.
