Current system: Gigabyte 1060 6 GB Windforce OC, i5 6600 k, 16gb DDR4.

Since I don't game a lot I was considering selling my 1060 and getting a 1050 ti.

Would I end up regretting it? I'm a casual gaming and am okay with not having the game maxed out. Also I game at 1080p 60hz.

Thanks!

Pairing well is hard to quantify. The 6600K can pair well with stronger GPUs, depending on the resolution.

For 1080p gaming, a 6600K is a pretty solid balance with a 6GB 1060 - a 1050TI is a step down, but still a fairly reasonable pairing for your needs.

You'd probably be fine - a 1050TI is a solid 1080p/60Hz card, with you likely dropping from High/Ultra to Med/High (on average).

That being said, it really depends what you're trying to net from the 1060.
A new 1060 6GB (not the Windforce, but similar performance) goes for ~$250 new.
A 1050TI is about $155 minimum.

So, on cost new, there's a ~$100 price difference. I doubt anybody is going to pay you much >$200 for a used 1060.... leaving you a net "profit" of $40-$50.

Doesn't seem worth it when you look at it that way - to me, at least.

Depends on what you game on. A GTX 1060 6GB costs about $260, while a GTX 1050 Ti costs about $160. The price difference is $100 but then you have to consider that you'd get the used value for your 1060 6GB GPU. I'd recommend keeping it unless you need an extra $50.

Disregarding gpu pricing would I get acceptable performance with a 1050 ti? I'll be looking around for deals

"deals" aren't really going to be common right now - GPU prices are inflated anyway, and "new(er)" cards don't see the Black Friday/Cyber Monday discounts of older cards.

BUT, if we're pretending you don't already own a 6GB 1060 then yes, a 1050TI will give you reasonable performance at 1080p.

I was worried about the 1050 ti pairing well with my cpu.
