So I'm thinking of upgrading my system and I'd like some opinions on it since I'm not a 100% expert about it.
I'll start my upgrade with cpu mobo ram since my mobo is really old and I need to replace everything.
Intel core i5 7600k
Asus Prime z270-A
Corsair Vengeance DDR4 8gb 2400 c15

All your questions are answered here, including relative gaming performance between 8400 and 7600k. And yes its better, both in terms of performance and longevity.

Is there any issue with the performance of your pc???
If not, then I wont even think about any kind of upgrade with that kind of hardware. Its still relatively new, being launched earlier this year. You wont find any significant difference in performance by upgrading to anything at this point.
Not sure what that "8b" resembles on your RAM spec, but if its 8gb, maybe you can consider adding another 8gb, but thats about it for your upgrade path on cpu/mobo/ram that i can see.

Ahh, I see. I thought you already have that.
So, if thats the case, the 7600k is not a good upgrade atm. Its a dead platform with limited upgrade path. At the same price you should go for the 8400, which is latest gen. and is a more potent cpu with 6 true cores. It will give you a very good upgrade path into the future as well... http://www.pcgamer.com/intel-i5-8400-review-the-best-new-gaming-cpu-in-years/

I like your choices. I'll check if it's cheaper in my country.
2 questions for you.
You think it's a better combo ?
Are you intentionally avoiding Corsair memory?

Is 2666 and 3200 supported by 8400?
