Help with BIOS Update for Ryzen

Hey Guys,

It's a beginner question but i just assembled all the parts for my ryzen computer. I got the ryzen 1700 with the msi tomahawk. Will i have the updated bios out of the box or do i have to install it myself? If i have to install it, Do i just download it from the website and run it? I read something about the m-flash but don't understand too much about it?

You will probably have to update it yourself to get to the newest version.

Usually all it takes is to download the proper file from the website, put it on a usb stick, go in to BIOS, go to mflash (for MSI), then browse to your usb drive and choose the file.

This used to be a pain in the ass back like 8+ years with making bootable floppies etc etc. Now kids these days have it easy.

Hey Can i simply just download it from the website and run it as an exe file or is that not possible?
