I really want my money's worth for now and the future which for me is like 4-6 years. In terms of that which line of CPUs seems more reliable and future proof. I mainly game, but here and there I'll record and use some multi-tasking which I'm sure Intel will do me just fine.
However with the new Ryzen and upcoming "Zen 2" or whatever they're calling it, I'm really debating getting Ryzen.
I just need like hands down which line of CPUs will last me longer and give me my money's worth the longest. In case you wanted to know, my current budget for a CPU is around 200-300. Little above 300 is no problem. I'm really considering these choices though:
Ryzen 5 1600
Intel i5 8600k
I know they're completely different price points, but if I were to choose Intel I would choose that and if I were to choose Ryzen I would choose that specific one. Both CPUs seems great at their price point.
