Hi there I was wondering if my motherboard can handle 2 cards I currently have m5a99x evo r2 motherboard and a sapphire r9 270x 4gb gddr5 unfortunately I built this pc 2 years ago and can’t find the card. This card is 2 years old and really can’t find this card anymore was wondering if it’s compatable with other gddr5 4gb cards. Thanks

Solution
yes you can, but only with a 270x, to be blunt, a single good card is better than 2 mid range cards, much less hassle. See what you can sell yours for, and see what you were willing to spend, you'll probably get more performance for that than the 2 card solution.

you are better off with a single card

CF is not a good idea with the old fx processors

if you want better gpu power its past time for a complete rebuild, so dont waste money on this current setup

save money, then sell what you currently have and jump up to a new platform

I agree, multiple GPU always leads to more headache than benefit.

From compatibility issues to lack of support and proper optimization from game makers, to extra power requirements and the resulting excessive heat.

Majority of scenarios, a single more powerful GPU is better than two weaker ones.
