Hello
I have an Asus M32BF model. This model has a 300 watt psu. A58BM-A/M32BF/DP_MB motherboard. The cpu is an AMD A10-7800.

My question is: is't possible to upgrade to a GeForce GTX 950 strix 2gb or would I be better off with a lower version like the 750 ti.

Solution
The total wattage of your power supply is not the problem. The problems, if there are any, would be does your 300W power supply have the 6 pin connector a 950 would need? Many 300W do not. Also, what kind of amp output is on the 12V of that power supply? It will be listed on the label on the side of the power supply. It will say something like "12V 18A" for the output. Since both the CPU and videocard draw power from the 12v output, you don't want to see a low number there like "12A" or "14A".

Otherwise I think you'd be okay. The 950 is rated at 90W standard, that's only 15 more than the other cards.

Thanks. However the gtx 1050 is a little hi end for me and out of my price range. I've found a well priced gtx 950 however I'm just a little worried I would need to replace my power supply to run it. Which is more expense. Is it possible to run the 950 on a 300w supply??
