What are your thoughts on this build? I'm going to start purchasing parts over the next few days with a budget of $1,000. I plan to game on my 1440p monitor,

Are there any upgrades, or different competent recommendations that will still keep me on that thousand dollar budget?

Additionally, i'd also like to upgrade my dated 1440p 60 Hertz monitor if I can find a good deal during the holidays, I'd also appreciate any suggestions you may all have.

8GB GTX 1070s with a 1600 can easily run about anything in 1440p 60fps on very high settings, as far as a 144hz goes you'll likely have to turn graphics down a notch for things like GTA V and Battlefield 1.

Do you recommend a lower hertz monitor? Currently I'm running a 60 hertz but I think it's time for an upgrade.

No, it will be able to run most games at 144 fps @ ultra settings, just not all. Even at ultra for the games I listed you're still getting 100+ fps.

So do you think it's worthwhile upgrading my monitor at this time? I mean it's a good time to buy due to the holidays, and i'd like to take advantage of these upcoming deals.

Excellent, and your thoughts on the monitor that was recommended, the Dell?

I've always heard great things about Acer, but I value everyone's input.

Acers usually are of higher build quality but more expensive as a result, the Dell is still great but if you want to pay the premium price for higher quality I'd say get an Acer.

And apparently it's going down to $400 starting on the 24th. Don't think i'll be able to find anything as good as for less than $400.
