CPU's bad cooling causing FPS drops

Hey there,
So, I like playing games and so i bought GTX1060 3GB for my 6-months old PC (8GB RAM, i5-7400, Windows 10), because i was looking for best price/performance value and GTX1060 seemed like a good option. When i tried some new games (Battlefield 1 for example) i was running it on Ultra quality almost stable, but with FPS drops when there were explosions etc. I thought it was ok because it might not be as powerful as I was thinking so i tried lowest settings and it didn't change. I started to think that it might be because of processor beacause it was happening only in ''high processor usage'' places. Then i tried The Division and it run perfectly almost on Ultra. And then there's Watch Dogs... I tried it on Ultra settings and in run on 40FPS. I know what are you thinking but it's game from 2014 and even on this setup it should run on 60FPS+ for sure and so i looked on some vids and i found one with exactly with the same setup as i have and it worked perfectly. And the last one happened today when i tried Fortnite, game with cartoon graphics and on FPS counter i have seen 40... Yeah, i tried lower the settings in all games but it didn't helped. I know that it is still fully playable but you know, you pay for something and then there're only problems... I was realy upset so i started thinking... My pc is placed between wall and my desk and I'm using stock cooler, so the reason for this all might be bad cooling> high temps> lowering the CPU's performance. I want to try it and buy some additional coolers but I must be sure with it.
Thanks for some help and sorry for my english :)

Core i5 7400 is slow CPU for playing Battlefield 1 64 players multi-maps with GTX 1060.
So, it creates bottleneck problem unfortunately.
You can't solve the problem with lowering graphic settings. Because problem is CPU, not GPU.
You can try the highest graphics settings. Also you can use Nvidia DSR for higher GPU load. It' ll reduce CPU usage.
Even overclocked 7600K reaches %100 usage sometimes in Battlefield 1.
That is why people recommended AMD Ryzen processors instead of Skylake and Kaby Lake ones.
But Intel Coffee Lake series are game changer. They have better gaming performance compared to Ryzen CPUs.
