Hey everyone, I'm saving up for a build these next few months, and it will be my first one. I have my eyes fixed on an Asus strix z270e motherboard, the corsair h100i v2, corsair vengeance lpx ram (2x8gb), and a 1080ti. I really am interested in the new corsair 570x case, but I have read on different places that the radiator of the cpu cooler(with the fans attached) will not fit, or barely fit, with the ram cards installed. Can anyone help me out on this issue? Also, the radiator for the h100 couldn't be fit on the front of the case where the case fans are right? Thanks so much guys

Solution
Hey there!

The fact that cooler radiators would fit in or not depends on what the case is and basically how big and spacious it is. Also to some extent to the heat sinks on the board'S VRM on the top and around the back panel and all. That board has some bulky heat sinks on the VRMs. I think you might have a problem with that cooler in that case, especially with RAM.

People actually do fit radiator and fans in front of their cases if possible (it's mentioned here by Corsair, 28 and 36mm radiators must be attached to front side) but then they'd have to take any existing fans out from there, which in turn disrupts the optimum air flow in the case which is usually intake at front and side and exhaust at the rear and top. This also...

This also depends on the cases space in the front and whether it has drive cage in the front bottom section.

Corsair website actually says you can fit a 240mm radiator to top:

http://www.corsair.com/en-gb/crystal-series-570x-rgb-atx-mid-tower-case

But the motherboard and RAM clearance maybe an issue.

The Corsair 570X does not have drive bays in front but you have to take out at least two of the front LED fans to put the radiator there, maybe even all three fans, which I think more or less defeats the purpose of buying that case in the first place.

I think it's a bit weird that Corsair did not take RAM clearance and top space into consideration for their own cooler.

Unless you can read around the web and see someone has used exactly same cooler in this case with those RAMs.

Is this a gaming rig? What is your monitor? What CPU and what PSU do you want to get?

Hey thanks so much for your reply! Yeah its going to be a gaming rig! Thinking of getting an AOC monitor at 2560x1440 at 144hz, and planning on getting the i7-7700k with 650w psu.!

I really would like to get this case and that cpu cooler though, so would there be any other solution? Maybe buying another motherboard? and if so, which one would you recommend?

No problem, glad to help.

I think one way of finding out is searching to see what motherboards of similar architecture (z270) people are using with that cooler in that case. Many board with that cooler might have issues as far as RAM clearance is concerned in that case.

I think a 1080 Ti is a bit overkill for 1440 but that's your call really. Just get a good and reliable PSU for that system, not just any PSU. Do you have any PSU in mind?

Update:

This is a good 650W PSU:

So I was reading online, and it seems that it will fit if I buy low profile ram. The Corsair vengeance LPX ram is only 31mm, more than 10mm less tahn say the Gskill ripjaws V. Do you think the radiator will fit on that?

If people have actually used them together they should work then.

Honestly I can't guarantee they'll fit as I have not seen them together up close but if people have talked about and asked question about their systems with that configuration they should fit.
