About a week ago I installed a new GeForce GTX 960. I didn't install any drivers as it turns out the pc automatically recognizes the new graphics card and there's no need for any driver installation (I think? Someone correct me on that one). Anyway, everything was fine for 1 day (after restarting 2 times), Until the next day, when I turned on the pc it rebooted itself. Disk C's files weren't deleted (except for saves), but all the custom settings restarted themselves. i.e. Chrome forgot all the users and the bookmarks, the desktop background got deleted. It is as if the hardware files weren't deleted, but the custom software files were deleted for good.
Can someone help me restore the old pc? I checked the "Restore System" tool and the earliest point of restore is set after the problem has occurred. Also, can I stop the pc from rebooting itself?
These are my pc's specs:

Thanks.

I need you to indicate your make and model power supply. I suspect your having PSu issues.
secondly if the files are indeed gone, then they only and best way to restore your system will be to wipe the drive of partitions and reinstall windows
Do you have a CD/DVD/Usb copy of your Windows 8 ?

also, windows only load basic drivers for the video card, to get full potential and GLP compatibilities I suggest you get a fresh copy at NVidia.com of the drivers, it will improve the rendering speeds of your gaming during gaming.
