I have a Ryzen 3 1200 @ 3.1ghz, 1x8 8GB DDR4 2400mhz, EVGA GTX 1060 3GB SC, Asus A320M-K mATX.

Should I purchase another 8GB DDR4 2400mhz ram stick, so I have 16GB or should I save a little bit more and purchase a Ryzen 5 1400?

Another question, I have the Asus A320M-K mATX mobo paired with Ballistix Sport LT Single (1x8) 2400mhz. I'd like to know if I can overclock my Ballistix sport ram from 2400mhz to 2666mhz without adjusting my voltage? (My motherboard supports up to 3200mhz RAM speeds)

If I can't oc my RAM to 2666mhz without adjusting the voltage, then what should I set the voltage to for 2666mhz that is stable?

Thank you, I agree. I think I will take the advice of upgrading to a Ryzen 5 1400 or maybe 1500X/1600. I could purchase that 8GB stick right now but it is $86-$90 right now, when I purchased the first stick it was only $59.99. I am not paying $20-$30 more for something that wont improve performance in gaming but instead in multitasking. What do you think, would I receive a higher performance gain with the R5 1400 or 1500X over my Ryzen 3 1200 in gaming?

A ryzen 1400 is a very minor upgrade and not really worth it.

The 1200 is 4 cores / 4 threads and the 1400 is 4 cores / 8 threads.
That isn't much of an upgrade for normal gaming, but if he does some heavily threaded tasks it might help?

So would a Ryzen 5 1500x or 1600 be worth it either?

The Ryzen 1600 is 6 cores / 12 threads. I think that is a good upgrade.

The 1600 is a true upgrade. The 1500 is the same 4core/8threads.
