Hello,

My processor (i5 2400 @3.10ghz) and my motherboard (MSI B75MA-P45) Are really outdated and they are not performing well either, i am quite new with PCs, i know some basic stuff but i need help, i have a 500 watt power supply and i am currently running an r9 290 4gb GPU, i use my pc mostly for gaming and i wanted help. I Want to buy a combo: A motherboard and CPU, Not too expensive, but still a decent one. What motherboard/CPU combo could you guys recommend me? and do i need a bigger power supply? Because when i want to overclock my gpu it crashes.
Greetings and Thanks, Sam

first of all... your GPU crashing.. would not be fixed by overclocking. Second, "Crashing" is vague, you would have to explain what it's actually doing, because some crashes could be caused by a bad power supply.

second, your GPU is fairly decent, it is older but definitely can still perform well in games

You would be looking at a CPU+MOBO+Ram upgrade. here is where your budget plays a big role.

this is what a Low budget upgrade COULD look like, it could be even lower.. no problem. but you would definitely need windows 10 unfortunately, which I think for your situation, you would have to purchase

but.. all of this said.. I do believe that you would want to upgrade your PSU.... 500w is really on the bottom end of your GPU (video card) requirement... which could be causing the crashes. you could add another 50$ aprox to the estimation on your PC upgrade for a DECENT enough PSU, and if your current PSU is not a good quality one, then definitely it's to blame for the crashes.

hope this helped

Yeah, when i try to overclock my GPU My pc shuts down, and currently while playing games my Memory usage gets to 60 and my processing rate to 60 as well. Thank you for your advice, and for the recommended items. Thanks-Sam
