I can't afford a ethernet switch at the moment but I could do with one. I have a spare router which is a BT Business Hub 5. Is there a way to use it as just a network switch?
Many routers actually have a small switch chip inside that runs the lan ports. Pretty much all you do is turn off the dhcp and make sure the ip address does not conflict with your existing router.
