Move a ssd from dead laptop to my new desktop

I have had a laptop with a dead screen that i never use. and i was wondering if i could take the ssd from my laptop and install it in my desktop, i don´t want anything from the laptop, i just want the extra storage in my desktop.

Assuming there is nothing on it that you wish to keep, you open up Disk Management, and delete each existing partition on that drive.
Then, using the resulting empty space, you make a single large partition. Format, and give it a drive letter.
Be very, very sure of which drive you are working with.

Assuming it is a standard 2.5" SATA drive, sure.
Any OS or applications on it can't be used, but the drive is fine.

Most current cases even include one or more dedicated mount points for a drive of that size.

Do i need to delete the OS and other stuff that is on there?
