In work I have a PC connected to a server through Ethernet port so I can work on the server program
Now I want to connect a wireless router but I don't have another port and I don't want to compromise PC connection to the server

Please verify:

You now have a PC connected directly to the server via a direct Ethernet cable from PC's Ethernet port/adapter to the Server's Ethernet port/adapter - correct? Nothing else connected.

And you wish to add a wireless router creating a network serving the PC, the server, and other wired and wireless devices?

Can you explain "compromise". Inherently I believe that you mean you do not wish to disconnect or otherwise disturb the existing PC to server Ethernet wire connection.

Most wireless routers also have at least four ports for wired Ethernet connections.

Are you able to provide a couple of simple diagrams showing what you now have and what you wish to have?

There are options available - just need to ensure that the current setup is fully understood and that the end requirements are fully described and likewise understood.

When you say the PC is connected to the server do you mean a cable goes from your PC directly to the server, or do you mean cable from PC and from server both go a router or switch?

If it is the latter (connected to router/switch) then you can just connect line going to PC to the wireless access point, then connect wireless access point to pc.

If it is the former (direct to server) then we need more information on the program on the server as switching to having a device in the middle my prevent the application from working.
In which case the easiest option would be to add an additional ethernet port to the PC
