Hello everyone

I'm planning to buy a gtx 1080 zotac mini (the only one that fits my budget, and I've heard it good)

The thing is, my psu is this one:

Thermaltake 600W 80 Plus White Smart Series - PS-SPD-0600NPCWBZ-W

My only concern for now is, is this psu ok for running the gtx 1080 mini without any risk of damage or whatever

My daddy gave me that and I wouldn't like to change that for now

My current specs

I5 3300
Mobo h61m-c
Ram 8 gb
Gpu: I'm gonna buy the zotac 1080
Psu: the one I told you guys thermaltake ss 600w 80 plus

I know these are very weak specs, so I plan to change it to a ryzen 1600 with an asrock b350

But for now I'm only gonna buy the gpu, later I'll change up everything

So is this supply ok for running my soecs with the gpu with no problem ?

I've heard it's not the best overall, not even good, but it's not that bad either

What do you guys tell me ?

Just worried that the psu could eventually damage my hardwares

Thanks

Ok so that's the most important to me

It won't damage any hardware, mainly the gpu right ? Ok to use this one then

I'm going to get a gtx 1080 for gaming on 1080p, people told me it's an overkill

But the thing is, the better performance the better to me, also I don't know if in the future I change my monitor or whatsover, and the 1080 will have a longer life since it's way better than the 1070, and the price difference is not that huge

Gonna use this psu so

Thanks a lot bro

If you're at 1080p 60Hz then yes it is overkill, for now anyways. In a couple of years it won't be so much overkill, but at least you won't have to upgrade again so soon. It should last you much longer than what your current GPU lasted.

Yeah bro, I'm pretty sure it's an overkill for nowadays, but as you said, not really in the future

And as I don't plan to upgrade it for the next 5 years (around it), I'm pretty sure the 1080 will do its job pretty well

And the choice of the zotac mini is due to the price, which is the best on the market here in south america

Also, the 2 years warranty is an extra

That's it, thanks bros, and any good news I make sure to ask you guys hahaha =)

Yeah bro

I've seen some reviews and I know it's a pretty solid board with a great performance, temps looks cool also, everything in a good both size and budget

Temperature worries me also because I want it to last as long as possible, but I heard it's a really cool board so no problem overall

And I don't plan to overclock since the board is a monster itself, so temps will stay fine

And about coil whine, it's really something that doesn't matter to me since I play while listening to music lol
