Does my Ryzen 1950x need extra thermal paste?

Hi,

I just bought a new set of components to built a new video editing system.

I'm basically set to go, but before attaching the Thermaltake Ultimate 3.0 water cooler to the Ryzen 1950x, I was wondering if the amount of thermal paste, already attached to the Thermaltake, is enough to provide the bigger surface of the Ryzen 1950x compared to regular sized CPU's.

No it doesn't, it will spread and that is plenty on the pre-applied thermal , just install it.

just for future reference you NEVER want to mix thermal compounds.
Clean and replace. never mix

In case I was going to use more (on recommendation), I would have first cleaned the pre-attached paste ;-)

If you ever replace the paste get some MX4 or Gelid Extreme.
