About RAM Prices

When will RAM prices drop back to normal. They have went to TWICE the regular price and I don't know when the will go back down. They have said in early 2018 but it's almost 2018 and I haven't seen prices dropping.
 
Solution
Prices aren't going to drop any time soon due to high DRAM demand in HPC, server and mobile markets outstripping production as DRAM manufacturers are running into delays and production issues with their respective sub-20nm DRAM processes. The only time you're going to see 16GB at roughly half the current prices ($60-70) is when there is surplus production and DRAM manufacturers decide that eating losses on manufacturing chips during an over-supply condition is still (probably) going to be cheaper than stopping and restarting production lines during a presumably seasonal slowdown. When a DRAM manufacturer loses that bet, it either goes bankrupt or bought out, which is why we're down to only four major DRAM manufacturers from a dozen...
