I am in the preparing to build my first machine to code on but am also interested in making it gaming capable. I tend to go for topline items in all my projects, but see warnings of increased noise and heat levels and extra parts and connections to deal with higher heat and energy needs. not only does that sound inconvenient, but I also hate the idea of inefficient hardware that causes so much heat and noise. I'm wondering if there are certain brands/parts that address these things, otherwise I will just use weaker parts that are optimized for efficiency over power. thanks

The main problem you run into when trying to build extremely quiet gaming PCs, is the case will usually have a solid front panel, which considerably blocks airflow and raises temps. So the key is to look for a case that has a swing open front panel you can open when gaming, which allows better air flow. Try to look for one that doesn't have a cumbersome or fragile door.

When it comes to gaming PCs, there's quiet, cool, and high performance, pick any two. Most don't mind if their PC is a bit louder during gaming, because most games produce louder than quiet audio. The exception is stealth games. Even there the PC is less likely to endure the kind of loads open combat games do, and run quieter (not always the case though.)
