Hi everyone,

I have a Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speaker. I was playing music on this in my garage while the temperature was very hot (90s) and my amp started to have a burnt smell.

I turned it off and now the speakers do not play any sound when I plug it into my phone...

Rather than buy a new amp replacement, I thought I'd try to find out the cause myself...

But I don't have an electrical engineering degree and have no idea where to start (besides popping open the amp).

Hoping someone here can point me in the right direction.

TIA!

Solution
If the amp has blown out I suspect it won't be easily repairable.
You can open the speaker and see if there are burnt components but without schematics- parts list and soldering skills you won't know what the component value you need to replace or the skill to do it. Most companies will not be helpful to DIY repairs.
Hopefully Klipsch has replacement amps at a price that makes sense. Otherwise you will be in the market for new speakers.
