Hi sorry if duplicated thread, but like in topic, 3 days from now i bought new graphic card and tried to play Mass Effect Andromeda but cpu temps (Celsius) and noise of cooler are to big to have fun.

This is game issue or to low pc build to this game ( i found in google or tomshardware that this game is heavy CPU-bound and many users have 100% cpu usage but each time cpus were weaker).

My PC is ok in other situations - i render on it 3d and never temps on cpu above 70 (typical idle 28deg, normal using 45, more stress works 60deg), only aida64 extreme test can push it to higher temps, but when i play older titles i get 60-140fps on top settings/uber - depend on game with low cpu temps. Even on Andromeda my fps are ok never below 70 so gpu works fine but not cpu ;) For example older games:

- Skyrim / highest settings (many, many visual mods) / cpu 45deg / gpu 55deg / 140fps / 1440p
- Rise of the Tomb Raider / highest + purehair / cpu 45deg / gpu 65deg / 70fps / 1440p

but when i only click dekstop icon of ME Andromeda (even not went to game) my cpu goes to limit and stays in stress even in game. No matter if its main menu, animation or i play in game. No matter if details are ultra, high or medium. If res is 1440p or even tried to reduce to 1080p and play on TV with native 1080p. On top setings i get 80fps and this amount can increase each time i reduce some settings or resolution so in lower details i can get even 100-120fps, max temps on GPu were 75deg but.. cpu still hot no matter what settings i tested. My Skylake cpu is after few moments 85+ deg, all cores 100% usage 4,1ghz (i turned off oc) can this bie fixed or this is game appeal? :)

No fps drops, no stuttering - cpu usage is constant.

My config:

Asus Strix 1080 A8G 11gbs OC mode
i7 6700K (set to 4,1 ghz) + BQ efficient cooling
Z170 pro gaming
16gb ddr4 RAM 2400mhz cl12
ssd 850 evo
Fractal Define R5 with good airflow http://oi66.tinypic.com/14bqkqu.jpg (ofc closed side panel)
BQ 850W platinium psu
display DELL 27 inch g-sync 1440p
win10 home

game ver 1.10, all drivers newest can get on 19.11.2017

Thanks in advance - if u need additional info, plz ask.

//edit.
what is funny, i played this game on integrated gpu from Skylake few weeks ago and on lowest details, in window i didnt have this issue, cpu worked fine but ofc quality and fps were low - http://oi64.tinypic.com/o60m50.jpg - maybe is something to turn off is game settings what can be done to not stress cpu anymore? :)

Solution
I would try deleting the game shortcut then making a new one from the exe in the game directory. If the problem still persists, try enabling "Run this program as an administrator" in the Compatibility tab of the shortcut Properties (right click to access).

You can also try repairing the game files in Origin. Some games also benefit from enabling "Override high DPI scaling behavior", also in the Compatibility tab. ME Andromeda seems to have fullscreen issues, which can be resoled by enabling "Disable fullscreen optimizations", again, in the shortcut's Compatibility tab.

In W10 you can also try disabling Game Mode, in case that is causing problems with the game. What you're describing has the symptoms of a scripting loop (also called memory leak), whereby scripts run excessively causing RAM (and possibly CPU) to have extremely high usage.

I wouldn't at all be surprised if this is a W10 Creator's Update bug. I haven't played Andromeda since the fall Creators Update installed, and I never kept the beta installed since it wiped out most of my fonts. I didn't really have issues playing Andromeda though, even on my old i7-950 and 7970, with just 8GB RAM.

Solution
Great, easy solve. If that happened to your shortcut though, you want to also do some malware and virus scans to see if it was something malicious that corrupted it. Malwarebytes is pretty good for malware, and free. Avast is pretty good for viruses, also free.
