no both CPU's are the wrong socket. the FM2 boards are meant for APU's the motherboard is FM2
both CPUs are AM3+ socketted

you can upgrade but you will require a motherboard change to support the above CPUs.
if you have to replace the board I advise getting a newer platform than either the motherboard or the CPUs listed.

define cheap.
both the chips listed above are 220W units and will require a motherboard with the VRM to keep up. you will also need a good high quality PSU if you do not already have one. add to that a liquid cooler and the prices start increasing rapidly, scarcity is also raising prices.

what are all your current specs?

ASUS M5A78L-M PLUS/USB3 AM3+ AMD 760G (780L) / SB710 USB 3.0 HDMI Micro ATX Motherboards
with Gigabyte (N105TOC-4GL) 4G GTX 1050 Ti OC Low Profile PCI-E VGA Card
and a new psu to this Thermaltake (PS-TRS-0550NPCWAU-2) TR2 S 80 Plus 550Watt Power Supply Unit

AMD A10 7890K A-Series APU with Radeon R7 Graphics And Wraith Cooler 4.1 4 AD789

if i cant get the above cpu to work out

^ no mate , that board is am3+ for fx chips

Your current board can run the 7*** series apu's or the athlon 860/880k

There is no point though because any fm2+ chip is only going to be 10% stronger max on the cpu performance.

Just drop a 1050ti in the build you have now & call it a day.

i was also thinking to upgrade my CPU to an AMD A10 7890K A-Series APU will my PSU handle it as well as is it compatible with my motherboard?

my psu is an antec truepower trio tp3-430

Already said this - its pointless upgrading the cpu at all.

You already have a3.8ghz quad core in there , the newer chips on that socket are not noticeably stronger.

Just upgrade the gpu , that will be a massive improvement over the integrated graphics.

The psu is fine for a 1050ti.
