Last night my pc just died. After lots of reading and testing i narrow it down to either the GPU or the PSU. The gpu is a geforce gtx 760 and the psu is a be quiet kraft 600 w. The pc attempt to boot (fans spinning, lights etc) as long as i dont hook the power to the GPU. The gpu requires 2 6-pin cables connected in order to function. when i insert the gpu to its pci-e slot the fan on the gpu spins and if i connect power to the right port on the gpu (away from dvi port) nothing happens. when and if i only use the left port (closest to dvi port) the computer just dies. i appreciate all suggestions

And i got my PC working again, i turns out that it was the GPU indeed that has failed. Just to be sure i also got a multimeter and checked the PSU for any faults but it turns out to work properly and in within spec.

in order for the gpu to be powered 2 6-pin cables has to be hooked up. when i hook one up (the right) nothing happens. when i hook the other in the computer dies, when i remove the cable the computer attemts to boot again

will do. just found some ddr3 ram sticks laying around. i was just looking to buy more ram. i already have 2 sticks of corsair vengeance 4 gb each installed. 1600 mhz and 9-9-9-24 1,5 volt and the ones i found is kingston hyperx 1600 mhz 9-9-9-27 1,65 volt. you think i can use them together? my mobo is a MSI z-97-s02

There is no guarantee you can but as long as you run them at the same speed, timings and voltage they should be fine.

Ok so i did try it all but could not get it to work. The computer would not boot with the new sticks at all, even if i attempt to boot with just them installed it wouldn't so i suspect that the sticks are bad or compromised somehow. I did however download a new bios update which states in the changelog that it will have further ram compatibility but i cant update the BIOS right now because i have no USB flash laying around haha.
