First off id like to say thank you tremendously beforehand to anybody that responds to this.
Ok so i have a toshiba 3tb external HD and about a week ago my network was hacked and the hackers started taking over my whole computer and once i realized it in the heat of the moment i unplugged my external and quickly shut my computer down. After doing everything i needed to do to get rid of the hackers for good and making sure they couldn't return i plugged my external back in and it showed as an empty drive i looked in disk management and was quick to learn it was raw so after a few hours of googling i ran the testdisk program and learned that everything was still there and the filesystem was in excellent shape and that i needed to restore the partition so i did and i did it MBR using the testdisk program and restarted my computer only to see that it wouldn't even show up as a drive anymore in windows explorer or in disk management but it still shows in testdisk and shows the whole partition there. I am bot sure if i used the wrong partition table if i should of used GTP or what i may have did wrong as i just followed what testdisk recommended i do. It has about 2.60 terabytes of pictures and videos of my son and daughter on it from the day they were born till now and i'd hate to lose all of those memories. I thought about copying the files to another drive but can't afford to buy one and the program said copying the files would take a few days and i wouldn't wanna chance something messing up between now and the time copying is done so before i take that risk i thought id pose my dilemma to the experts to see if they had any insight on this. Any info on what to do or not to do would be greatly appreciated and once again thank you so much to anyone that responds.

If i were you the first thing i would do is make a copy of that data on a USB flash drive. Are you sure it is 2.60 gigabytes and not 2.60 terabytes? 2.60GB is very small and could easily fit onto a small USB stick. 2.60TB is much larger and would need a 3TB hard drive to fit all that on.

Thanks for pointing out a huge typo in my question lol its 2.60 terabytes i had been up late googling and reading in the hopes of saving my data and was half asleep when i wrote my question its been edited now and if i had access to another 3TB hard drive i would definitely consider copying it my only worry would be something happening during copying like power going out or anything random that might make it unusable for good. I downloaded MiniTool Partition Wizard since it wasn't showing up in disk management and it shows it and shows an actual volume instead of showing Raw but for the file system it now says other instead of NTFS but its not showing it as being raw anymore i'm just afraid to go much further with it without some advice from knowledgeable people since i followed testdisks recommendations and it went from at least showing up in disk management and file explorer to not showing up at all

You say you don't have another 3TB drive to copy on to, but do you have any extra HDD space to copy to? Even a large USB drive?

I have got 10.2.2 so ill have to go find one of those versions thanks for the info and my pondering thought at the moment is since it shows the partition in the MiniTool Partition Wizard i got installed and shows (other) for the filesystem instead of like NTFS etc. if changing it to NTFS would make it worse or maybe fix it lol
