I recently tried to upgrade to 16gb of ram with this- Corsair Vengeance Pro Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 DRAM 2400MHz C11 Memory Kit 1.65V

These are my current specs-

When I installed the new ram my computer would regularly freeze for a few seconds and then pick back up. I first tried changing the frequency settings in the BIOS to match the 2400 of the new ram, but experienced issues immediately after that and switched it back to auto (which I think is 1866). Any help would be greatly appreciated as I really wanted to upgrade to 16gb to help run games like pubg, thanks!!

Just now got around to checking it out. The BIOS is at the current update already, version 1.9

Is there any other possible way to configure the settings to work with the new ram correctly, obviously I want to leave the frequency settings on auto because there were issues when I tried to manually change the setting to match the frequency of the new RAM.

reset the BIOS by clrCMOS jumper (have a look at your manual howto)

Did you set a XMP profile or did you just manually set it to the wanted frequency?
in BIOS: Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P) to profile 1
if this doesn´t work stable, try profile 2
page 81 3-19 in the manual

Did you install 16GB additionally to your current RAM? If so, 1866MHz is the max. speed you will get.

In which slots did you install the new RAM if just the new RAM was installed without the old ones?
DIMM2 and DIMM4 should be preferred (from CPU left to right)

if it runs at 1866MHz, it will be fine too.

if you wanna run the speed you bought, set this manually:
Timings:
11-13-13-31
frequency
2400MHz
dram voltage
1.65V

Thanks! I did not install it as additional RAM because I assumed that would cause issues such as these, so I was just replacing them. When I had changed the frequency settings I simply changed them in the BIOS settings from auto to 2400MHz, so I did not use a XMP profile. I'll give these a shot later today and get back to you with results, thanks a lot for the quick response!!
