Hey, hoping for some assistance.

I built this computer about 3 years ago, been working perfectly until about a few days ago when it randomly shut off. Now it won't turn back on. The motherboards LED are lit up. On the case however they are not.

I tried switch the case's power and reset switch to see if it was a wire problem, but didn't work. i have also tried shorting the 2 pins on the board

Right now I have it taken out of the case and connected to a different power supply.

I have switched the ram into different slots and I applied new thermal paste to the cpu. I tried with and without the GPU connected. For whatever reason my computer will not even try to boot up. I press the power button on the Mobo and it won't even try to turn on. No response at all.

I've also taken out the cmo for 20 minutes and putting it back in. I haven't tried replacing it.

I let my computer sit for 20 mins After I turned on my PSU and let it try to power my computer. I touched my mobo It was cool to touch, but where the GPU was located it was hot. It was painful to touch right underneath the Mobo right where the GPU is. I've taken out the GPU and the bottom of the motherboard still gets really hot, the warmth seems to be directed underneath the cmo and the second slot for the GPU

Specs:
Z97-A Asus (Mobo)
Supernova 850 g2 gold certified (old PSU)
Cx550m bronze certified (currently connected psu)
Corsair vengeance 16gb (8x2) ddr3
840 evo-series 250gb (SSD)
Intel i7-4770k (3.5ghz)
Corsair graphite 230T (case)

Question from jessejohnson100 : "Computer will not turn on at all"

Hey, hoping for some assistance.

I let my computer sit for 20 mins After I turned on my PSU and let it try to power my computer. I touched my mobo It was cool to touch, but where the pci2 was located it was hot. It was painful to touch right underneath. The bottom of the motherboard still gets really hot even though nothing is plugged in, the warmth seems to be directed underneath the cmo and the second slot for the GPU (PCI2 slot) it is also hot to the touch on the top of the board where you would plug in the second gpu

Question from jessejohnson100 : "Desktop computer will not turn on (detailed description)"

First off, I am sorry I am posting in the laptop discussion board, I couldn't find a desktop version. Anyway I am hoping for some assistance.

I built this computer about 3 years ago, been working perfectly until about a few days ago when it randomly shut off. Now it won't turn back on. The motherboards LED are lit up. On the case however they are not.

I've also taken out the cmo for 20 minutes and putting it back in. I even tried replacing it too.

Something I've noticed,
I let my computer sit for 20 mins After I turned on my PSU and let it try to power my computer. I touched my mobo It was cool to touch, but where the pci2 was located it was hot. It was painful to touch right underneath. Try turning off your PSU's power switch so the motherboard is getting no power, then hold down the power on button of your case for at least 30 seconds to drain away any electrical power built up in your motherboard. Then start over. This might help you.
